Johnny Manziel returns to game after brief injury scare

Johnny Manziel returns to game after brief injury scare

But we were all scared for a little bit there.

Johnny Manziel left Saturday night’s game against Mississippi with what looked like the worst kind of knee injury: That non-contact, no-one-touched-me, ouch-this-hurts knee grabber – yes, the worst kind.
But don’t worry: Manziel seems fine. Not to say we weren’t worried.
The injury occurred as Manziel was rolling to his left to deliver a pass in Ole Miss territory; he threw the pass and then crumbled to the turf, clutching his knee, writing in pain as Texas A&M’s medical staff ran to the scene.

Bad, right? But Manziel returned to the field, albeit with a brace, shortly after getting the once-over by A&M’s medical personnel. After a few minutes of sideline jogging, Manziel returned and seemed back up to his old tricks, helping lead the Aggies on a touchdown drive – giving A&M a 14-7 lead with less than a minute left in the first quarter.
Remember: Manziel tweaked his knee during last November’s win against Missouri. Could this be a relapse? Well, maybe. Probably not, since he’s almost a year removed from a fairly unserious knee injury. He’s fine. Relax. Resume your Heisman campaign and national championship push.
